Under the slogan “Message to Generations”, Sétif 1 University – Ferhat Abbas commemorated, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian Liberation Revolution of November 1st, 1954. The ceremony was attended by vice-rectors, deans, university staff, students, and social partners.
The commemoration began with a symbolic gathering at the 19 May 1956 Square, featuring the national anthem and a recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs.
The celebration continued at the Mouloud Kacem Nait Belkacem Auditorium with the closing ceremony of the National University Graphic Design Competition, held under the theme “Our Glorious History through the Eyes of University Students.” Several students from various Algerian universities were honored for their creative works reflecting Algeria’s rich national history.
