Sétif 1 University – Ferhat Abbas, as a member of the Silk Road Universities Network (SUN), informs its students about the call for applications for the 8th edition of the WRICOS (SUN Writing Contest) 2025-2026.
WRICOS is an annual international writing contest that celebrates the cultural, historical, and linguistic diversity of the Silk Roads and encourages students to share their perspectives through creative writing.
Contest Themes:
Poetry – Voices of the Silk Roads: A Bridge Between Cultures
Essay: What is the most crucial challenge threatening the sustainability of modern civilization? Why do you consider this challenge the most important? As students, what role should we play and what actions should we undertake to address it?
Important Dates:
- Submission deadline: 13 September 2026, 23:59 GST
- Announcement of results: 21 September 2026
- 11th SUN General Assembly: 15–20 November 2026
- Venue: Algiers, Tlemcen, Bejaia and Setif – Algeria
- Registration deadline: 20 September 2026
The winners will be invited to participate in the 11th SUN General Assembly in Algeria, with travel expenses covered according to the prize category.
This contest offers students a valuable opportunity to express their creativity and discover the richness of the cultures and shared heritage of the Silk Roads.
