As part of the commemorative program under the slogan “Loyalty to the Martyrs’ Commitment,” the Université Ferhat Abbas Sétif 1 organized a symbolic gathering on February 18, 2026, at the 19 May 1956 Square.
The event, chaired by the University Director and attended by university officials, administrators, and children from a local kindergarten, included Quran recitation, the national anthem, and the reading of Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs. In his speech, the Director emphasized that this day represents a renewed commitment to national memory and to honoring the sacrifices made for the country’s independence and dignity.
The ceremony concluded with a tribute presented to the University Director by students of the “Tamkine” Cultural Club in Sétif.
