On the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Victory Day (Algeria), Ferhat Abbas Sétif 1 University held a commemorative ceremony on Thursday, March 19, 2026, under the theme “Eternal Glory and Renewed Victories.”
The ceremony was chaired by the Rector, Mohamed El Hadi Latreche, in the presence of university officials, social partners, and members of the academic community.
The event took place at May 19, 1956 Square (El Bez campus), and included the raising of the national flag, the national anthem, and a minute of silence in tribute to the martyrs.
In his speech, the Rector highlighted the historical significance of this date as a symbol of Algeria’s independence. The ceremony concluded with prayers in memory of the martyrs and greetings to the university community on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
