Under the slogan "Independence: A Legacy Entrusted to Future Generations,"Ferhat Abbas Sétif 1 University commemorated the 64th Anniversary of Algeria's Independence Day on Monday, 6 July 2026, through a symbolic ceremony chaired by the Rector, Prof. Mohamed El Hadi Latreche,
in the presence of university officials, the Secretaries General of Eastern Algerian universities, and members of the university community.
The ceremony included the raising of the national flag, the national anthem, and an address by the Rector, who paid tribute to the sacrifices made by Algeria's martyrs and emphasized the responsibility of preserving their legacy and the values of the November Revolution. The event concluded with the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs.
