The Université Ferhat Abbas Sétif 1 organized a commemorative event on February 17, 2026, marking the National Martyrs’ Day under the slogan “Loyalty to the Martyrs’ Commitment,” held at the Institute of Architecture and Earth Sciences.
The ceremony brought together university officials, faculty members, staff, and students. It opened with Quran recitation, the national anthem, and a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs. In his speech, the University Director emphasized the importance of preserving national memory and drawing inspiration from the sacrifices of the martyrs to strengthen national identity.
The program included cultural and intellectual activities such as a student address, a patriotic song, a debate on national memory, a short film screening, poetry readings, and a scientific presentation. The event concluded with an award ceremony recognizing winners of competitions organized by the Sub-Directorate of Scientific, Cultural, and Sports Activities in Sétif.
