As part of the official celebrations marking the 64th Anniversary of Algeria's Independence Day, Prof. Fayçal Kherfi of Ferhat Abbas Sétif 1 University was honoured during a ceremony chaired by the Governor (Wali) of Sétif Province, Mr. Mustapha Limani, on Sunday, 5 July 2026.
The distinction recognizes his achievement as the winner of the President of the Republic's Innovator Researcher Award (2nd Edition) in the researchers' category, for his innovative research project on advanced digital technologies and 3D printing to improve radiotherapy for superficial cancers, including the development of locally manufactured radiation dose measurement devices.
